-Hong Kong-
A few years ago I have visited Hong Kong, especially HK Island. The view from my hotel room was amazing like the whole city.
As you can see, my room was nearly filled by my bed. In HK the standard hotel rooms are mostly smaller than in other countries and definitely much more expansive.

Hong Kong meets Hollywood
Between bathroom and bed there was still place for a small desk with this fantastic view of the sea and the Bank of China Tower. Even the Two International Finance Centre, seen in Christopher Nolans movie ” The Dark Knight”, gleams splendidly at night.

My bathroom was small but mighty. I was functional and very clean at all.

The Lockhart Road is one of the main roads that goes through Hong Kong Island. The first moment I walked down the street I was wondering about its familiar European style. On the street there are many bars, pubs and shops that remind of the former British influence. In fact, the taxi driver spoke a better English than me

I told you that there is a lack of space in Hong Kong. So, the city is characterized by tall buildings. Don’t be intimidated going through the streets surrounded by narrow, but tall buildings. The first day I arrived in HK I had to think about, if this kind of urban architecture fits to my vision of this city. And yes, it does. On the second day I was already in love with this exotic place. Walking through the upper streets and having a nice view from almost every point is just amazing.

I was lucky to find our hotel pool.

Although HK is hit hard by smog, especially summer smog, you are able to enjoy this nice view mostly.
MY TIP
Book a hotel on the hill (Robinson Road – for example) for this fantastic view.
→ I visited the Bishop Lei International House
